About

Hi ho, Kermit the frog here! No actually, it’s Jenni. Just filling in this space with some stuff that’s not about me at all, even though the title is “about”. I mean, it doesn’t say *about what*, does it? So I will tell you *about* the Chambered Nautilus. Did you know that it is a cephalopod, just like an octopus or squid? However, Chambered Nautiluses are the only cephalopods who bother to grow a shell (and a pretty one at that, mind you). “Cephalopod” means “head-footed”; in other words, its legs grow straight out of its head, much like a 2 year old’s drawing of a person. Cephalopods belong in the phylum mollusca, same as snails and slugs, only I like them much better because they don’t eat my garden.

Oh, did you want to know something about me? If you insist. I am a mammalian vertebrate, a writer, a beach-lover who is landlocked at the moment, a Jesus freak trying to get a little freakier day by day, and someone who pines daily for the last trumpet call. The fruit of my womb numbers 11 (here on earth) with one more due in April ‘08, and I homeschool them all. Homeschooling has crippled any vestiges of self-importance I may have ever had, and I am the last person on earth who is cut out for it. The fact that I have survived over 15 years of it only proves the veracity of 2 Cor. 12:9. You may email me at perfect10@faithshield.net but only if you’re going to be nice.

I found the link for your blog on Lots of kids, and I really enjoyed what I read. I am the mom of four, and we are open to more children, but I am too old to make it to 11! You seem like quite an amazing gal. Thanks for the inspirational read - I will probably check it out again!

Love your blog, am working on subscribing if I can figure it out - I am a hsing mom to five, currently, hoping and praying for more, but landlocked in a very snowy Wisconsin and praying for spring!!!

Hola Jenni,

Oh dear, there I go discovering another blog just so interesting I will have to come back and back again! First saw your Ghirardelli entry and I guess the chocolate drew me in, then bounced around and saw the stuff your wrote about ADD shopping habits, and then dipped into different entries, and read about you, and your wonderful spin on kinds of things…I’ve much to learn at your feet, mom of 12.

Certainly God blessed you, and continues to do so. I hope to visit your sharings here in cyberspace and learn how you channel your diverse interests and energy through writing, and balance all that you do and think and have. I am so glad your kids have you to learn from. Life is fun, and thanks for being part of the ride.

Touched in Miami,

Ann Shea

Jenni,
I just wanted to write today and say: I.love.your.blog! I am completely addicted to reading it. It is such a treat to take a moment and see what you have come up with today. You have helped me see that surely I can somehow rediscover the thinker and writer inside myself that I have lost in the midst of having and raising small children. If you can do it with 11 almost 12, surely I can do it with 2 almost 3!
Your honesty, creativity and most of all your love for Jesus are such an encouragement. Thank you!
Ann

Hi! 12! You lucky woman! How old is the oldest? I can’t figure it out.

It’s a huge coincidence that my pastor and his wife have 12 children and they are all/were home schooled. They too drive a 15 passenger van and it’s amazing how they function as a team.

thank you for making Motherhood so beautiful. I am going to link you on my blog so everyone can read of your tales. :)

Do you think you could add a picture of the Chambered Nautiluses? ;-)
